Mammography

Mammography is a special type of diagnostic medical imaging that uses a low-dose x-ray system to examine women's breasts for signs of cancer. Doctors and patients can view the results of the mammogram on film. Most medical experts agree that successful treatment of breast cancer is often linked to early diagnosis. Mammography plays a central part in the early detection of breast cancers because it can show changes in the breast before a patient or physician can detect them with a manual exam.
